Kristin Cavallari has recently spoken about her strained relationship with her father, Dennis Cavallari.

In an interview with People magazine, the 37-year-old has spoken about cutting ties with her dad and called it the “best decision” of her life. While speaking to the outlet on June 2, 2025, she said:

“I mean, honestly, and this might sound messed up to some people, but it's the best decision I've ever made, cutting my dad out of my life. Such a weight has been lifted from me. There's not one day where I miss him. I don't know if it was two or three years ago, but I mean, I was an adult, let's say I was 35 [when I decided]. It was 35 years of buildup to that point.”

Kristin Cavallari mentioned that the rift between her and her father began when he “crossed the boundary” with her children. Cavallari’s dad, Dennis, is a real estate developer whose family immigrated to America from Italy in 1903, per a report in Style magazine. He works as a developer for SteelWave and is the founder of the Cavallari Group.

According to the description on his official website, Dennis Cavallari served as Senior Vice President for Legacy Partners Residential in Southern California, where he was responsible for developing some of the luxury apartment communities.

He is also a partner at JPI, where he oversees developmental projects in Denver. He was also a partner on the East Coast, where he ran the northeast offices of Property Company of America.

He had a troubled relationship with his wife Judith Eifrig, who is also the mother of Kristin Cavallari and her late brother Michael Cavallari, according to a report in Style magazine. After divorcing Eifrig, he married Nicole King.

The report indicated that in 2012, a woman named Tracy Sill alleged that he cheated on King with her. She called him a “philandering, s*x-crazed cheat.” She also said that Dennis had told her that he was “addicted to Viagra and marijuana” and promised her a future together.

After trying to mend ties with her dad, Kristin Cavallari finally decided to cut ties with her father completely. In her latest interview with People magazine, she revealed that the rift between her dad started when he crossed the boundary with her children, however, she didn’t reveal what exactly happened.

Kristin Cavallari is a mother to her three kids - sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9. She shares them with her ex-husband, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler.

She added that he “couldn't even apologize” after the incident. She further said that she was happy with her choice and it "was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time." This was not the first time Cavallari opened up about her dad. Previously, in December 2023, she addressed the "narcissistic tendencies" of her father during an episode of her Let’s Be Honest podcast.
