Who is Lara Cove? Ace Frehley’s ex-fiancé remembers KISS rocker following death

American rock musician and guitarist Ace Frehley died in Morristown, New Jersey, on October 16, 2025, aged 74. According to The Guardian and Variety, he succumbed to a brain bleed and other injuries sustained from a fall last month.

In the wake of Frehley’s demise, his former fiancé Lara Cove paid tribute on her Instagram Stories by reposting his performances shared by other users on the platform.

Lara Cove is an artist, school teacher, motivational speaker, and mother. She was in a relationship with Ace Frehley for six years and parted ways in June 2024.

At the time, the rocker shared the news at one of his concerts in Charles Town, West Virginia.

"I broke up with my ex, Lara. Sorry. She's gone. I still care about her. Wonderful girl, beautiful girl. We decided to part our own ways, and she's happy, I'm happy. It was just time. Things go south, right? Three out of four marriages end after five years in this country, statistically. I don't wanna be a bearer of bad news, but that's reality," Frehley stated.

Meanwhile, Lara Cove took to her The Art of Glass Facebook page and wrote that despite their split, they would continue to “treasure the bond” that they shared and the memories they created together.

Exploring further about Lara Cove and her relationship with Ace Frehley

Ace Frehley appeared on the AXS TV program, At Home and Social With, in September 2020 and shared that he was a Bronx, New York native who spent years in California for his career. However, in 2018, he met Lara Cove in New Jersey and decided to move in with her.

“I hooked up with an elementary school teacher in New Jersey, moved in with her, her two kids and a dog, and now I'm a New Jerseyite. Her name's Lara Cove. And I met her on December 7, 2018, at a KISS convention in New Jersey that I was actually performing at,” Ace Frehley stated.

He continued by saying how Cove had a booth full of mugs at the convention with his face painted and gave me one. Others featuring his KISS bandmates, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss were also exhibited.

“She's a very beautiful woman. We got to talking. And then she came to one of my shows subsequently, several months later. And one thing led to another. I don't think I need to go any further," the rocker quipped back then.

Before that, Ace Frehley shared “enjoying the seasons” living in New Jersey with Lara Cove and having bought a 6,000 sq. feet house, adding he was planning to build a state-of-the-art recording studio in it.

According to Lara Cove’s website, she is an artist who works on both canvas and murals.

“I offer custom memorial and portrait artwork that goes beyond a simple likeness, including illustrated tributes to loved ones and pets, symbolic ‘memory scenes,’ and narrative legacy pieces that incorporate meaningful items like handwriting, recipes, or flowers,” the description states.

The options include hand-drawn portraits, grief-inspired art prints, personalized keepsakes, heirloom-style commissions, and stylized character or connection portraits designed to honor relationships across time, among others.

“My work blends a deep love for art, music and rock ’n roll, and I create with the intention of turning your space into something unforgettable,” it adds.

Her Facebook and Instagram pages have 23,000 and 3,051 followers each. Cove has a model daughter named Valentina and a son named Santino.

Ace Frehley and Lara Cove met in December 2018 and were together until June 2024. They were engaged and lived in Sparta, NJ. On June 15 last year, the rocker shared the news of his breakup at the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, West Virginia. Meanwhile, Lara took to Facebook and wrote:

“After much thought and heartfelt conversations, Ace and I have decided to part ways. Our love and respect for each other remain strong, and we will always treasure the bond we've shared and the memories we've created together. This decision is a step we are taking as we both embark on new paths in our lives.”

She also mentioned that she refused to hear “one bad mouth” about her ex and would not be discussing the split further, out of respect for Frehley and her integrity. Cove thanked everyone for their support, kindness, and love.

Throughout their relationship, both Ace and Lara shared moments of their time spent together on their social media.
