The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions and beyond comprehension. All you need to know about Ace Frehley's daughter
According to IMDb, Ace Frehley welcomed his only daughter, Monique Frehley, with his wife, Jeanette, on July 6, 1980, in the USA. Monique is a musical artist, just like her father, and offered backing vocals on the 9th track of the Anomaly album, called A Little Below The Angels, according to the Kiss band’s website.
In a 1994 interview, Ace shared that one of the things that pushed him to get sober and quit drinking was his teen daughter, Monique. He also added that he tried to set the right example and turn her into a “respectable young lady.” He added that Monique appreciated his music and what he did, while also telling him at the time how she enjoyed watching him perform.
The interview was taken during a tour and later reshared on The Tapes Archive podcast in February 2020.
Monique also acted in a scene in the 1999 film Detroit Rock City, which was inspired by the Kiss band’s song of the same name. However, according to a 2019 article by ultimateclassicrock.com, the scene was later edited out of the actual movie.
While Gene Simmons suggested that Monique be included, he and Ace Frehley later discovered at a private screening that she got cut out. Notably, the film revolved around four teenage boys in a Kiss tribute band who try to watch their idols at a concert in Detroit in 1978.

Later, in his 2011 autobiography No Regrets: A Rock ‘N’ Roll Memoir, Ace Frehley further explained how his daughter’s exclusion affected the band dynamics.
“I knew it wasn't an accident. Gene had been involved in the editing process on a daily basis. I even remember getting tapes from him, early on, with alternate scenes and endings, but Monique's scene was always included,” Frehley wrote.
The ‘Spaceman’ artist added, “I knew Gene was probably p*ssed at me for something I had done, but to get back at me by hurting my daughter? I mean, it was his idea in the first place, so what the f**k was he doing? I never felt the same about Gene after that.”
According to Ace Frehley, the snub was an “all-time low” on Simmons’ part and contributed directly to his “second departure” from the band.
As per Variety reports, Frehley joined Kiss as one of the three founding members, alongside Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss, in 1972. A decade later, he exited the band to pursue a solo career, only to rejoin in 1996. His final exit happened in 2002.
In May 2024, Ace Frehley shared an image on Instagram sporting matching ‘Ace’ tattoos with his daughter, revealing they got them during his 2023 tour.
“Got matching 'Ace' tattoos with my daughter Monique back on tour in 2023! Family ink, rock 'n' roll style! Thinkin' about getting another,” the post was captioned.
Ace Frehley is not only survived by his daughter, Monique, but also by his wife, Jeanette, brother, Charles, sister, Nancy Salvner, and nieces and nephews.
