Marcus Lakee Edwards, popularly known by his stage name Lil Keke, is an American rapper and a member of the Southern hip-hop collective Screwed Up Click, based in Houston, Texas. Keke gained popularity with his hit song Southside from his debut album, Don't Mess Wit Texas.

Recently, Lil Keke has been making waves on the internet after he took over social media on Sunday, July 27, 2025, and called on the Houston community to help recover the stolen items from Andre Johnson's home burglary that took place over the weekend.

As per a report in Chron, the Houston home of the Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Johnson was burglarized, and several sentimental memorabilia items were stolen.

Lil Keke recently took to his Instagram handle to share about the burglary incident that took place at the NFL player Andre Johnson's house. In the video, he revealed that many of Johnson's items were stolen and that these items represented his legacy, dedication, family, and work, rather than clothing or cars.

In the video, he said:

''Andre Johnson is my brother. He's the first Houston Texan Hall of Famer. He dedicated his life here, his career here, and also he resides here as a Houstonian—that makes it much, much more important. Man we family and this is a family message.''

Stressing the fact that the community must come together to recover the stolen items, Lil Keke said:

"Let's come together as a Houston family, and put our ears to the street, put our nose to the ground, and find out who got these items and let's recover and get them back to our brother.''

Over several decades, Lil Keke released numerous albums and mixtapes, including the 2001 Peepin’ in My Window, and Platinum in da Ghetto, the 2008 album, Loved by Few, Hated by Many, and the recent 2023 25 Summers, the 2004 album, Can't Rain Forever, and the 2025 Legend Hotel.

Among his well-known collaborative albums are If You Ain't Hungry, Don't Come to the Table with CMG, the 2008 Still Wreckin' with H.A.W.K, the 2013 Trunk Waving and Misbehavin' with DJ Gold of the SUC, the 2014 From the Southside to WTX with Rawsome Russ, and the most recent one is the 2020 album is Slab Talk with Paul Wall.

As per the Houstonia Magazine, Lil Keke is widely credited with creating the 713 Day, an unofficial Houston holiday on July 13, celebrating the city’s area code and hip-hop culture. It was his branding around the number that led to a city proclamation in 2015 and annual celebrations that continue today.

The investigation into the burglary is ongoing, and as of the latest reports, no arrests have been made.
