Who is Mary Cosby’s husband? ‘RHOSLC’ star’s family details explored as son Robert Jr. arrested for assault and trespassing

Mary Cosby’s son Robert Jr. has been arrested for multiple alleged crime, which includes assault and trespassing. According to TMZ, the arrest happened on Saturday, September 6, 2025, just outside Salt Lake City.

Robert Jr. is the only child of Mary Cosby and her husband, Bishop Robert C. Cosby. Mary and Robert married on September 28, 1988, after her divorce from her first husband, Dana Harris. The couple welcomed their first and only child, Robert Jr., in 2005.

Before becoming her husband, Robert Snr. was Mary’s step-grandfather, her grandmother’s second husband. According to the RHOSLC star, her marriage to Robert Sr. was basically an arranged marriage as “it was kind of in my grandma's will for us to marry.”

Robert has expressed his love for his wife on many occasions. During the reunion of the first season of RHOSLC in 2021, the Reverend described Mary as a great mother and wife.

“I love her. I understand we've had our ups and downs. Hey, you've been married 22 years, how in the world can you not get along?”

Some days after Robert Jr.’s arrest on Saturday, Mary Cosby appeared on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked radio show and spoke about how she and her husband were coping with their son’s recovery journey. Speaking on the radio show, Mary announced that Robert Jr. was doing his best to become sober. She shared that she emphasized to her only child that it was a journey and only he could make up his mind to be sober.

“And if it just takes a made-up mind to do and execute whatever you are trying to do, but you can't do it if your mind's not made up. And I can't make it up for him.”

She continued:

“I can just only push him, encourage him and love him. And that's what I'm doing. That's kind of where we are. But he's still on that road, and it's a hardcore road,” adding that “it's tough to watch as a mom.”

Mary Cosby also revealed that her husband, Robert Sr., was having a hard time dealing with the situation, and he was ‘devastated.’ However, she was hopeful that her son still had the willpower to commit to the sobriety journey.
