J.J. Spaun secured a dramatic victory at the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club on June 15, 2025, marking his first major championship and only his second PGA Tour win.

According to The Independent, Spaun found his best game during the back nine of the final round at the game, where birdies on the 12th, 14th, 17th, and 18th holes secured him a spot in his victory.

J.J. Spaun has expressed love for his wife, Melody Spaun, on numerous occasions. His social media is evident of his romantic relationship and his love for their kids - Emerson Lili and Violet Windsor.

According to Facts Podium, they first met when they were students at San Diego State University. But they seemingly started dating in the 2010s after being introduced by their mutual friends in 2013 in Orange County, California.

However, unlike J.J. Spaun, Melody was not a fan of sports when they met and had zero knowledge about golf. In a 2023 interview with Golf.com, Spaun recalled their first date when they went for mini golfing. He said:

“I was like, yeah, I’m a pro golfer. Because I thought I was cool. But she’s like, ‘I don’t even know. What does that mean? Like, does that mean you’re like rich or something?’ I was like, no. And she’s like, I don’t really care. And I was like, all right. And we went like mini-golfing or something, and she’s like, this is lame.”
