Who is Meredith Scudder? All about Scottie Scheffler’s wife whom he credits for his Open performance

Meredith Scudder, the wife of Scottie Scheffler, has been a source of constant support for her husband, who ranks number one on the PGA Tour. She was born on May 12, 1996, in Texas, United States. Scudder graduated from Texas A&M University with a Communication and Business major degree.

Scottie Scheffler has never held back when discussing his friendship with his wife, calling her his best friend and biggest supporter.

In an interview with CBS Sports after winning the PGA championship, Sottie talks about Meredith Scudder’s role in his life.

“I mean, my wife is my biggest supporter. She’s my best friend. You know this is our life out here on the road. It's been a lot of fun, and we've had some special memories in this tournament. Yeah, definitely couldn't do it without her,” Scottie said, visibly emotional.

In 2022, after winning the 86th Masters Tournament, Scottie revealed how Meredith Scudder boosted his morale before the competition.

“I cried like a baby this morning. I was so stressed out. I didn't know what to do. I was sitting there telling Meredith, ‘I don't think I'm ready for this. I'm not ready, I don't feel like I'm ready for this kind of stuff,’ and I just felt overwhelmed,” the golf star player said.

“She told me, ‘Who are you to say that you are not ready?” Scottie continued. “Who am I to say that I know what's best for my life?’ And so what we talked about is that God is in control and that the Lord is leading me; and if today is my time, it's my time. And if I shot 82 today, you know, somehow I was going to use it for His glory. Gosh, it was a long morning. It was long.”

These are just some of the few times that Scottie has acknowledged Meredith’s support and credited her as the reason behind his success.

Scottie Scheffler and Meredith Scudder met in Highland Park High School and didn't officially start a relationship until their senior year.

“At the beginning of high school, I always thought he had a super humble ambience about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” Meredith Scudder told Golf Digest about her first impression of Scottie.

“Even when he had amazing accomplishments, that wasn’t the most important thing about him.”

The two continued their relationship even when they attended different colleges. After dating for six years, they got engaged in June 2020 at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Texas.

Meredith and Scottie got married in a Winter Wonderland-themed wedding in December 2020.
