SZA has parted ways with her Top Dawg Entertainment Manager Punch. Punch, full name Terrence Louis Henderson Jr, is the co-president of the label. He is also a member of the collective A Room Full of Mirrors and has released two mixtapes.
The singer responded to the post of a fan's Instagram account @szasgyatt's post on the matter:
"Nothing to celebrate. The end of an era. I wish him the best.. whatever his choices may be.. And to be clear I love punch deeply ! NO ONE should be attacking him or being cruel on my behalf . Sometimes ppl grow apart and that’s okay."
The singer's announcement came after a day she shared screenshots of a chat between her and her former manager, with the singer requesting to release three new songs, while Punch disagreed and asked her to wait.

SZA and Terrence Henderson have had a mostly cordial relationship, with Henderson playing a crucial role in her album's releases. Terrence talked about working with SZA during an exclusive interview with Variety on December 2, 2023:
"Really it’s about what the artist needs. Some artists might need you to come sit in the session all day. Some might just need a phone call to say, ‘What do you think of this?’ It’s not one size fits all.”
Henderson later added that it was his duty to reaffirm her belief in her music and be her fall guy with the critics:
"I don’t think she’ll ever feel 100 percent confident in the songs.She’s her own toughest critic. So my job is to come in and reaffirm that this record is amazing and this is why. I understand that people need a fall guy, a bad guy. So I prefer that to be me than the artist. I don’t need her focusing on that while she’s making these records. I’ll take that."
Henderson continued:
"As you grow with someone, you learn as you go.As long as the communication is alive, we can continue to stretch out what needs to be stretched.”
With Henderson gone from her career, SZA's future music management remains in question, with no replacement having been announced by the singer as of the writing of this article.
The singer recently released Lana on December 20, 2024. The album is a reissue of her second studio album, SOS, and was released via Top Dawg Entertainment like all her previous releases.
