Up-and-coming stand-up comedian Reggie Carroll died in a fatal shooting in Southhaven, Mississippi, on August 20, 2025. He was 52. Southhaven Police Department confirmed that a “male suspect” was in their custody and “charged” with the murder.
Reggie Carroll’s full name was Reginald Carroll. He was a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and best known for hosting and producing a stand-up special called The Knockout King of Comedy.
In the wake of this, Tennessee-born comedian, actor, and filmmaker Billy Sorrells has called out veteran comedian Katt Williams for staying silent.
In an Instagram video post uploaded on August 24, Sorrells claimed Carroll was killed inside a residence allegedly linked to Katt Williams.
“@kattwilliams, can you tell us why @comedianreggiecarroll had to Die at your House and you left him there? Somebody Needs to speak up. YOU, THE TRUTH TELLER, THEN TELL THE TRUTH?” his post was captioned.
According to Billy, the man arrested and charged with the murder of Reggie Carroll is reportedly named Tranell Williams, who was seemingly related to Katt. He also expressed doubts about why nobody helped Reggie at the scene and claimed there was an alleged cover-up about the identity of the suspect and the location of the crime.
As of this writing, Katt Williams has yet to respond to Billy Sorrells’ claims.

Billy Sorrells’ accusations against Katt Williams further explored
In the aftermath of Reggie Carroll’s murder, Billy Sorrells has demanded answers from Katt Williams.

He has claimed that Carroll’s killer was reportedly associated with Katt.
“Yeah, you might wanna go get TMZ for this one. Yeah, y’all might need to go start tagging the blogs. What we not going to do is we not going to act like Katt… You didn’t know who the f**k Reggie Carroll was,” Sorrells stated.
He continued his Instagram video post by saying, “Katt Williams, you the truth teller. You the Lord of knowing so much truth. You the master of being able to tell everybody else this sh*t. Katt Williams… Tell me why Reggie Carroll died at your house. Tell us what happened to Reggie Carroll.”
Billy also slammed Mo’Nique for allegedly downplaying who Reggie was, and his murder.
Claiming that the suspect was Tranell Williams, 38, who was six-foot-eight and 225 pounds, Billy Sorrells asked why there was nobody to stop him when he reportedly shot Carroll “more than five times.” The former Wild ‘n Out cast member questioned Katt Williams why Reggie was left behind alone on the “curb by your crib?”
“Riddle me that… Tell us why my n***a dead. Katt, tell us why Reggie Carroll died at your house, n***a. You got so much to tell about everybody. You so far in the future of knowing every f**king thing. Why can’t you just tell us what the f**k happened there on your street?” Billy asked Katt.
