Spider-Man: Brand New Day began filming in Glasgow last week. Moreover, we know what the new Spider-Man suit looks like, as its look was officially revealed on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Thus, as of now, Holland is filming the fourth movie featuring his version of the wall-crawler. Needless to say, fans are excited to see the wall-crawler again as No Way Home sets up a more classic Spider-Man movie.
Now, two leaked set images have fans in a frenzy as they believe that these photos are Fantastic Four and X-Men easter eggs. But as of now, it must be noted that these are set images, and we don't know if any of these two images would even be seen in the final theatrically released version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Leaked set images of Spider-Man: Brand New Day explained:
One image from the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day shows a street sign with the name "Franklin Street." It must be noted that one of Glasgow's roads is also named "Franklin Street." Therefore, while this sign may feel like a shout-out to Reed and Sue's son Franklin Richards, it probably is just a street sign and nothing more than that. There is a second image of a yellow truck with the name "Logan" on its door.
Looking at the truck, fans were quick to point out that the name Logan was a reference to the most popular X-Man, Wolverine, who goes by the civilian name James "Logan" Howlett. But again, it is likely that the truck is something that Peter will be seen driving in the movie, as he is all alone, poor, and broke. The truck might be a source of income for Peter in this movie.
On the surface level, freaking out over these looks silly; it must be noted that details regarding Spider-Man: Brand New Day are kept under wraps. For now, all we know about the movie is that, apart from Spider-Man, it is set to feature both Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle and Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner/Hulk. Michael Mando's Scorpion was also confirmed to reprise his role from Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
However, the rumored antagonist of Brand New Day is Mister Negative/Martin Li. Rumors are circulating in fan circles that he is the one who will be responsible for the return of the savage Hulk, prompting Spider-Man and The Punisher to team up.
What do we know about Brand New Day?
It is expected that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be a more grounded and realistic wall-crawler movie. The MCU version of Spidey kicked off with a relatively grounded movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming, which was released in 2017. However, after that, Holland's Spider-Man has faced one major crisis after another back-to-back.
He became an Avenger and fought Thanos along with other heroes, but they all lost in Avengers: Infinity War. At the end of the movie, Peter was dusted along with half of the universe. Then, Peter returned in Avengers: Endgame, lost his mentor Tony Stark, and immediately fought a con man posing as a hero, who ultimately revealed Spider-Man's identity to the world.
Then, Peter met his multiversal counterparts (Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire) and ultimately convinced Doctor Strange to make everyone forget that he is Spidey in No Way Home. The concluding minutes of No Way Home do hint at a grounded fourth movie in the vein of Homecoming. The presence of The Punisher only gives credibility to rumors of a relatively realistic movie.
Are you excited for Brand New Day? If you are, catch it as soon as it swings into the cinema halls on July 31, 2026.
