The wrestling world is still reeling from the loss of Hulk Hogan, and now his widow, Sky Daily, has revealed she is considering legal action. In an emotional interview, she opened up about the painful months leading up to Hogan’s passing and why she believes a surgery may have played a role in his death.
Sky shared that she has been quietly investigating, determined to find answers. For her, the process has been less about sudden revelations and more about piecing together records, interviews, and medical details to understand what truly happened to her husband.
Hulk Hogan's widow's medical malpractice lawsuit
Sky confirmed she is exploring a medical malpractice lawsuit, with the focus on a neck surgery Hulk Hogan underwent in May. According to her, the procedure “compromised” his phrenic nerve, the muscle that helps control breathing.
“If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick,” she said. “It’s not something that’s an alarming, sudden cause of death. It’s something that wears on you, makes you weak.”
When asked directly if she believes the surgery contributed to his death on July 24, she didn’t hesitate. “Definitely,” she replied. Hulk Hogan’s death certificate listed a heart attack as the cause, but Sky is convinced the nerve damage cannot be overlooked.
Part of her frustration comes from how some reports have portrayed the doctors involved. She defended Hulk’s longtime physician, Dr. Gerald Fitzgerald, who had been accused by conspiracy theorists of over-prescribing medication. Sky pushed back, saying,
“To me, it’s irresponsible to go out and slander doctors. That poor man never even gave him a scrip.”
She clarified that while Hulk had been under the care of Tampa General Hospital in his final months, the surgery itself happened at a different facility.
Sky also noted that the Clearwater police have been thorough in their review, going through medical records, cameras in the house, and medications. She expressed gratitude for how respectful investigators have been, saying she trusts the process to reveal the truth.
The legal angle gained even more attention after it was revealed that an occupational therapist, present on the day Hulk Hogan stopped breathing, told police the surgery had damaged his nerve. Sky later explained that while the nerve wasn’t “severed,” it was compromised enough to leave Hogan struggling.
For Sky, this fight is about accountability and closure. She has been balancing grief with the painstaking work of gathering documents and cooperating with investigators, all while delaying her husband’s cremation until the medical questions are settled.
As she put it, “Everything about his neck surgery has been documented from when he was alive.”
Her determination ensures that Hogan’s story does not simply end with a medical certificate. Instead, it continues as she pushes to uncover whether a medical mistake played a role in the wrestling legend’s final chapter.
