Jeremy Allen White had other priorities on Emmy Awards night. The actor received a nomination for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Bear. However, on September 14, Variety uploaded an X post, revealing the reason behind his absence from the award show, stating:

"Jeremy Allen White will not be at the #Emmys tonight because his best friend is getting married. White is once again nominated for his performance on #TheBear."

The outlet did not reveal the name of his friend or provide any further details about the wedding. Additionally, Jeremy Allen White has also not shared any pictures from his friend’s wedding on social media, keeping the occasion private.

Jeremy Allen White skips the 2025 Golden Globe Awards

This isn’t the first time Jeremy Allen White has been absent from an award show. Earlier this year, he also skipped the Golden Globe Awards. According to People, he skipped the awards due to filming Deliver Me From Nowhere, keeping him away from Los Angeles, where the ceremony was taking place.

The actor had previously secured back-to-back wins for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for The Bear in 2023 and 2024.

During his Emmy acceptance speech last year, he said:

"Thank you so much; my heart is just beating outside of its chest. Thank you to the academy and my fellow nominees. I'm so honored to be in your company."

White also thanked the whole cast of The Bear. Continuing his statement, he said:

"This show has changed my life. It instilled a faith that change is possible if you're able to reach out. You're really truly never actually alone. I thank this show."

In 2023, after The Bear was nominated for the Emmy Awards, he wrote on Instagram:

"This show means so much to me. It’s a show that works because of passion, talent and love. I’m so proud of everyone involved. I’m forever grateful. It was delivered with zero expectations, and it connected, because it’s human, and good. Our team is human and good. Our team is the best. I’m lucky. So much love."

This year, he faced competition from Adam Brody, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, and Martin Short. The award was won by Seth Rogen for The Studio. Jeremy Allen White is also a winner of Critics' Choice Television Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
