WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler suffered a heart attack recently, TMZ reports. As a result, the 75-year-old cancelled scheduled appearances at conventions including the Horror Hound Weekend.
The show’s organizers informed fans that due to Lawler’s health issues, former WCW Champ Lex Luger will replace him at the event:
"We received word that, due to some personal matters, Jerry Lawler is unable to get to Cincinnati this weekend. His agent worked quickly to find a replacement; of which we are happy to reveal former WCW Champ and WWE HOF wrestler Lex Luger will now be in attendance. The King hopes to make up for the appearance in 2026. We will keep everyone up to date with any news."
The WWE legend experienced a heart attack on September 5, 2025, in one of his Florida homes. He will return to his primary home, where his daughter will care for him, per TMZ’s reports.
Last Friday’s health scare is the latest in the wrestler’s string of health issues which reportedly began in 2012 when he collapsed while broadcasting WWE’s Monday Night Raw from a heart attack.

In September 2012, Lawler beat CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler in a tag team match with Randy Orton in Montreal, Canada. Lawler then joined sports commentator Michael Cole for an interview when he suffered a heart attack on live television.
The WWE released a segment that detailed the incident. Lawler fell out of the chair he had been sleeping in and was caught by a production ringside assistant. A ringside doctor attended to him and figured that he was experiencing a heart attack.
In 2023, Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke. After spending a few days in the ICU, he was released to go home for outpatient rehab. He posted an update on his X account which read:
"Update on Jerry: After suffering a massive Stroke Monday. He is now recovering in a Fort Myers, FL hospital. His speech is limited, but with rehabilitation will regain a full recovery. He thanks everyone for the continued prayers and will be back in the near future."
The following year, it was reported that the 75-year-old underwent knee replacement surgery.
