In an interview with GamesRadar+, director Gareth Edwards shared his thoughts on the audience's evolving views on dinosaurs while discussing Jurassic World Rebirth.

Edwards acknowledged that there have been a plethora of movies exploring the world of dinosaurs. He also stated that people, by now, must have developed dinosaur fatigue with the advent of such movies for decades, and this topic might have gone stale by now.

He shared his vision of making this film, which stands apart from all the rest of the films and has something new to offer, as he further states:

"There's been many dinosaur films in terms of Jurassics, and the audience, you've got to do something new and fresh to give them a reason to come see the movie,"

Upon its release, Jurassic World Rebirth received an average score of 6.3/10 on IMDb and an aggregate rating of 51% at Rotten Tomatoes, indicating a lukewarm reception. Criticism regarding the film's writing and its characters was also stark.

The audience's response to the film is also tepid, as the film landed with a Cinemascore of B. At the Popcornmeter, the film garners a score of up to 72%, which can be deemed as an 'okayish' score.

At the box office, the film garnered a global collection of $30,503,855 in its opening week. As per reports, the film was made on a budget of $180 million.

Set in the aftermath of the events in the last film of the franchise, Jurassic World Dominion (2022), the film delves into the disturbing truth about the existence of a monstrous species as a consequence of a defective experiment, as revealed by a team of undercover agents and a paleontologist.

Its official synopsis goes as follows:

"Along the way, the team meets a family whose boating trip went disastrously wrong. Stranded on a mysterious island, they all uncover a chilling secret that's been hidden from the world for decades."
