General Hospital will be serving up drama, chaos, emotion, and surprises as the fallout from the big Nurses' Ball Gio reveal plays out over the next few days. Aside from Gio, who never knew he was adopted, perhaps the most shocked character in all of this is Dante, who never knew Brook Lynn became pregnant with his child when they were teens.

Dante's most shocking General Hospital moment

After weeks of coming down hard on Gio (Giovanni Mazza) for not getting Rocco (Finn Carr) proper help after finding him passed out drunk on the beach, Dante was finally beginning to let that all go when Gio dropped a bomb in his lap — and everyone else's. Dante didn't know what to think when Gio stopped his violin performance to dedicate it to his parents, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Dante Falconeri.

According to Dominic Zamprogna, he tried to play the moment as if Dante believed Gio wasn't serious.

"I kind of played it like he thought it was like a joke, like part of his performance or something like that, until Gio starts freaking out," Zamprogna told Soap Opera Digest. "It’s not really until he looks at Brook Lynn that he realizes, 'Oh, this is actually a real thing.' It’s obviously one of those “world turned upside down” moments, and those moments are hard to play."

The moment of truth between Dante and Brook Lynn

When Dante finally found Brook Lynn in the Metro Court Gardens, he was ready to tear her apart for keeping the secret, but then he saw how distraught she was as she had it out with Lois (Rena Sofer).

"When he finds Brook Lynn, she’s in the middle of it with Lois," Zamprogna said. And those scenes may be the best scenes I’ve ever seen, the ones between Rena [Sofer, Lois] and Amanda [Setton]. It’s just otherworldly. He goes to look for her to be like, 'How could you?' and he sees the place she’s in, this terrible moment with her mom, and [it shifts his perspective]."

Dante indeed wanted to know more, but he also knew they had a son out there who was probably in more shock than they were. The actor hopes that Gio and Dante can get along one day. If they are a close father-son duo a year from now, Zamprogna even had an idea for the next General Hospital Nurses' Ball.

"If Gio and Dante are on good terms," he said, "I think Dante should play the drums while Gio’s on the violin."
