Former General Hospital star John Stamos paid tribute to his late father this week on his Instagram account.

Stamos, who played Blackie Parrish on the show, wished his father Bill Stamos a happy birthday on November 4th, when he would have turned 90 years old. Bill Stamos was born in 1935 and passed in 1998.

On his Instagram, Stamos shared several pictures of him with his dad, then captioned it, “Happy Heavenly Birthday, Dad. You were my hero, my best friend, and the greatest example of what it means to be a man. Everything good I try to be started with you, the way you treated people, the way you showed up, the way you loved Mom and our family without ever needing to say a word. Even though you’re gone, I still hear your voice guiding me, in my heart, in my hands, in how I try to be a father to my own son.”

The former General Hospital star continued the tribute by mentioning his son Billy, who he shares with wife Caitlin McHugh. “Every time Billy laughs, asks a question, or looks up at me for guidance, I feel you right there, reminding me what matters most: show up, be kind, work hard, love deeply. Miss you every day, Pop. Hope you’re smiling down today. I’m still trying to make you proud.”

John’s sister Alaina commented on the post, “He was the best, most loving father we could have ever asked for. You remind me of him every day Johnny! Billy is as lucky as we were. Xoxo”

Williams Stamos was a second-generation Greek-American restaurateur who was born to Greek immigrants. His son, a multi-talented actor and musician, has been busy lately embracing his musical talents.

The General Hospital alum performed in a special presentation of Step Into The Movies, a musical program that aired this week on ABC. The show was hosted by Dancing With the Stars cast members and siblings Derek Hough and Julianne Hough. Stamos shared a picture of himself performing with Julianne Hough. The program also featured stars such as Tate McRae, Ariana DeBose and Jenna Dewan.

Stamos also recently returned to the Hollywood Bowl to perform in a musical, a few months after singing there in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Stamos was part of the Halloween production of The Nightmare Before Christmas, a musical based on the popular animated film. Stamos shard a clip of him singing with Danny Elfman and Riki Lindhome.

He captioned that post, “Still can’t believe I got to step into The Nightmare Before Christmas with the incredible (Danny Elfman) and the insanely talented (Riki Lindhome) What an honor to perform “Kidnap the Sandy Claws” on that stage with a full orchestra and a crowd that felt pure magic!”

Lindhome also shared the experience on her Instagram account, showing a picture of her and Stamos and captioning it, “Thank you Hollywood Bowl. Performing there was a dream come true. And thank you to my wonderful, tan co-star (Stamos) for making it such a joy.”

The former General Hospital star has been a regular part of the group The Beach Boys, and recently performed with them again in Las Vegas.
