On General Hospital, Dillon Quartermaine has been in Los Angeles building a filmmaking career for many years. He has not been seen in Port Charles since 2017.

Fans of General Hospital hoping Dillon will be a part of the memorial episodes for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) got some bad news on September 23rd. His most recent portrayer, Robert Palmer Watkins, posted an old picture on social media of him with Jane Elliot, who plays Dillon’s mother, Tracy Quartermaine. He said that he has not been asked to come back as Dillon, but he hopes that happens in the future.

He captioned the post the same way on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), “Does Dillon need to come home and give Tracy a hug? I hear it’s been a sad week with Monica’s storyline. She will be so missed. I’m glad her character is being honored so well. And I hear Tracy is crushing her scenes! Miss ya tv mom.”

Numerous fans on both platforms commented that they would love to see Dillon back. The Instagram user shanemcqueenofficial, said “YES! I’ve been saying for years please come back full time! You’re so missed at GH and you brought swagger & charm to Dillon. A great actor that deserves some excellent writing! This would be a great time to come back/as we get into 2026. Would love to see you mix it up with the Quartermaines, Maxie when she’s out the coma, Brook Lynn, Lucas, Michael, Nina at Crimson and of course Lulu again!”

On X, the user alovelygrl said, “YES PLEASE!! Not only does his mom need him, so does his brother Ned! We need more Qs that wear the name proudly, in my opinion Tracy should have said her son was the future of the Quartermaines.”

Watkins has been busy since leaving General Hospital, appearing on numerous series and TV miniseries, including S.W.A.T. and The Walking Dead: Worlds Beyond. He is working on a film called The Fostered and has released music.

Watkins was the second actor to play Dillon as an adult, following Scott Clifton from 2003 to 2007. Clifton is now on contract at Liam Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful, so he won’t be appearing in Port Charles. And if there’s a secret recast in the works for Dillon, Watkins isn’t aware of it.

Dillon has been missed in Port Charles as Tracy’s other son, Ned’s (Wally Kurth) brother and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) uncle. He has had a close friendship and romantic interest witn Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) in the past, so Dillon could be a future love interest for her if he came back to General Hospital.
