Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What Happened on General Hospital

Few genres do courtroom drama better than soap operas. That's where all those juicy secrets are revealed at the most inopportune time, since the confessor is under oath and they know it's either fess up with the truth or go to jail. The soap genre is what brought us that incredible Emmy-winning moment when One Life to Live's Karen Wolek, played by Judith Light, confessed to being a prostitute while on the stand. On the December 23rd episode of General Hospital, Portia was forced to confess her affair with Isaiah Gannon while her husband and daughter were in the courtroom. Trina and Curtis never expected her to testify, much less confess to adultery, which immediately had them wondering if Curtis was actually the father of the baby that Portia was carrying. Portia also had to confess that she fudged Heather Webber's test results, which could land her unemployed and in jail. Watching Alexis prod Portia into admitting to her affair was both exciting and cringe-worthy, but in a good way. We knew what was coming, but Alexis didn't. She felt pretty stupid for exposing some personal dirty laundry in court that didn't do Willow's case any good at all. But it did do General Hospital and the audience some good. We got the courtroom drama we craved, and that Soap Central predicted last month when Nina chose to throw another pregnant friend under the bus all for the sake of Willow.
