General Hospital Performer of the Week: Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis Davis

General Hospital's Alexis has been through the wringer over the last year, especially after losing her oldest daughter, Sam. Nancy Lee Grahn turned in an Emmy-worthy performance when Alexis had to say goodbye to Sam (Kelly Monaco). Ever since then, she has shown her fierce mama bear power as Alexis has tried to navigate a mess between her two younger daughters, while advocating for Sam's motherless little girl.

This week, Alexis learned that Drew (Cameron Mathison) wants to take Scout (Cosette Abinante) and move to DC. The moment Drew spoke those words, Alexis nearly had a conniption, but also kept her cool, earning Grahn Soap Central's Performer of the Week honors.

Alexis the schemer

Alexis started her week still trying to get herself out of her sticky situation with Ava (Maura West) and Ric (Rick Hearst). The look on Grahn's face as she looked at Ava askance had us giggling. It was clear Alexis didn't trust Ava, but at the same time, we could see how giddy she was deep down because she realized Kristina's (Kate Mansi) convoluted plan to put Ava and Ric at odds had actually worked. The blackmail nightmare was almost over.

A few days later, Alexis remained calm and composed when she quietly slipped the situation with Ava and Ric into a conversation with Kristina. Alexis seemed almost...peaceful...and then, her world was turned on its ear.

General Hospital Grandma alert

After the debacle at Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow's (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding, Alexis is finally convinced that there might be an issue with Scout living with Drew. He might be her father, but perhaps the little girl should be spending time with her mother's family. With a sweet smile and her attorney voice, Alexis asked for permission to take Scout to see the ballet in New York City.

As soon as Drew announced he planned to take Scout to DC that weekend because he planned to move there, we knew calm and composed Alexis was about to fly out the window, and that she did. Rather than lose her mind in front of Drew, Alexis waited until she got to the Quartermaine mansion and lost it with Jason (Steve Burton) instead.

Grahn made us feel Alexis' panic and outrage at the thought of Sam's wishes being completely ignored by her ex-husband. She did her best to keep her cool, but we can see the anger boiling inside.

Sam's mom came out to play as she took her frustrations and fury out on an unsuspecting Jason. Grahn gave us Alexis unleashed, but managed to rein in her feelings by the end of the conversation. If Drew does take Scout to DC, we can't wait to see what Alexis will do next.
