General Hospital star Tabyana Ali, who plays Trina Robinson, is working on a new short film.
Ali is working on a film named Philophobia. She wrote the script and is directing the film with Sanefer Holly.
General Hospital's Tabyana Ali keeps busy when not playing Trina

She didn’t say what the film is about, but philophobia is defined as a fear of falling in love and can be tackled psychologically the same way other phobias are.
On her Instagram account, she showed clips of herself and the cast and crew working on the film. The video included a brief clip of Donnell Turner, who plays Trina’s father, Curtis Ashford, apparently doing something in the film.
She captioned the post, “Behind the scenes of my very first short film! I’m so excited to share more with you soon. But I will say I feel beyond blessed to have had the most heart-aligned crew by my side everything truly came together exactly as it was meant to. They saw the vision and helped bring it to life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I’ve said thank you a million times in private, but here’s my million in public. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.”
Numerous General Hospital co-stars “liked” the post. Brook Kerr, who plays her mother, Dr. Portia Robinson, commented, “Keep glowing, sunshine.” Jacqueline Grace Lopez, who plays Blaze, said, “So exciting!” Scarlett Spears (Donna Corinthos), on an account run by her parents, wrote, “I cannot wait!” followed by several heart emojis. Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli) and Sawandi Wilson (Dr. Isaiah Gannon) both posted clapping and fire emojis.
Numerous General Hospital fans wished her well on the project.
Ali is enjoying her time and is in a juicy storyline on GH as Trina helps her parents navigate the aftermath of Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting while hiding the fact that she and Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) were in Drew’s house when it happened.
Ali also shared behind-the-scenes photos from the GH set on September 11, showing pictures and brief clips of her scenes from recent episodes, including the aftermath of Drew’s shooting and a recent conversation between Trina and Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner). She captioned the post, “A magical place.”
Ali does many things besides play the dynamic Trina on General Hospital. She has written two children’s books named My Super B and My Flower Child. She starred in the film Empire Waist in 2024, which “follows a group of teens learning to love their bodies through inclusive fashion design and friendship.”
