General Hospital star Jophielle Love teases major story on ABC primetime series Will Trent

General Hospital star Jophielle Love is promoting her current primetime TV role as a new season begins.

Love, who plays precocious child Violet Finn on General Hospital, is a recurring actor on the ABC primetime series Will Trent, which began its fourth season on January 6th. Based on the current storylines on the show, she could be in for some great drama in the new season similar to what Love has done on General Hospital.

On her Instagram account, which is run by her mother, Love shared the ABC trailer for the season premiere, as well as a video of her getting excited about the new season.

General Hospital's Violet plays a daughter in primetime

The General Hospital actress plays Cooper Ormewood, the daughter of Michael Ormewood, one of the main characters on the show.

Will Trent is a police procedural set in Atlanta, Georgia. The title character, played by Ramón Rodríguez, is a special agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He is depicted as a highly skilled and observant detective who struggles to deal with past trauma.

Michael Ormewood, played by Jake McLaughlin, is a homicide detective. Love’s character is one of the two children of his character, who is divorced. According to her IMDb page, she has appeared on 10 episodes of the show, including four last season.

Love may have some serious stuff to portray on the screen this year, because Cooper’s father was diagnosed with a brain tumor near the end of last season. The diagnosis came during a 2025 episode which had references to General Hospital and was titled “A Funeral Fit For a Quartermaine.” Michael was later shown collapsing in the season finale.

In last week’s Season 4 premiere, which was set five months later, Michael was shown in a hospital room after surgery. In dialogue, Michael was concerned about Cooper noticing that there was something wrong with him and he didn’t want her to see that he was sick.

Love wasn’t in the episode, but it seems she will be featured in this storyline eventually. General Hospital fans know that she can handle a heavy storyline with her TV family facing health problems. The young actress skillfully and sweetly handled the emotion of Violet’s father Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) battling alcoholism and her grandfather Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) dying from ALS. No doubt the producers of Will Trent know this and hopefully they trust her with some emotional scenes.

“I love the kids. They’re great,” McLaughlin said in an interview with TV Insider. “It’s just been a neat little onion layer to peel back and see Ormewood with a softer side with his kids and see what comes back to navigating that course, parenthood that he hasn’t really been putting all of his focus on in the past, so it’s nice.”

Love has had multiple big roles since Violet and her father left Port Charles to move to Seattle in 2024. She had a recent part in the theatrical thriller Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, which stars Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games franchise and is available digitally on Amazon Prime and other streaming outlets.

She starred as the lead character in the short Run Wild, which premiered at film festivals in October, 2025. As IMDb describes it, “Rayla, a 9-year-old love child from a broken home, is torn between adoring and fearing her estranged alcoholic father, Taz. When the obligatory weekend visitation finally transpires, Rayla is forced into a terrifying task in the desert.” The film stars Eric Palmer as her father as well as icon Sally Struthers.
