If General Hospital's Willow didn't shoot Drew, maybe 'Nellow' did

General Hospital's Willow hasn't quite been herself since the moment she foolishly kissed Drew on the Fourth of July well over a year ago. But since she lost her children this past May, she has really not been herself. In fact, we have already speculated that she may be someone else.

A General Hospital (twin) sister act

Several months ago, we surmised that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) might have come down with a case of Soap Opera DID. Or maybe, after her traumatic childhood growing up in a cult, Willow has had an alter or several alters all along, and one of them has been making frequent appearances lately.

We called this alter 'Nellow' — sinister cross between "good twin" Willow and her bad seed late sister, Nelle (Chloe Lanier). Perhaps it was Nellow who was stalking Daisy. And perhaps it was Nellow who shot Drew and hid the gun in her room at Elizabeth's (Rebecca Herbst) house.

Sweet, innocent...and sinister

The Willow we have seen over the last week genuinely seems confused by the fact that the police found the gun in her room when she swears she didn't take it from the Quartermaines. She seems convinced that Michael (Rory Gibson) planted it there, as does Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). But, that could be a plot point to throw us all off.

Maybe the reason Willow is so insistent that she didn't shoot Drew (Cameron Mathison) is because she truly doesn't remember doing it. She might be telling her truth, but is she telling Nelle's truth?

Considering how much Willow was determined to never be like Nelle, it makes sense that Willow's damaged psyche might splinter and turn into the version of Nelle that Willow has always seen. In Willow's mind, Nelle is the most evil person who has ever lived. And an evil person would shoot an unarmed man in the back, and then go in for a second shot as his bloodied body laid on the floor.

This would be a twist that nobody in Port Charles saw coming, while also being a way to exonerate Willow and give her a fresh start. Perhaps another alter has been the one making poor choices with Drew all this time and the real Willow has been buried deep for quite a while. Stranger things have happened in soap land...
