That's it. With one line, General Hospital's Felicia Jones Scorpio had us in tears as she wondered if Maxie's time was up. Was the reprieve she got decades ago when Maxie's heart was failing finally over? It made us see how precarious life can be, as soaps often do.
During this soap opera week, life was put in perspective in a myriad of ways, as there are several characters living on borrowed time. Some deserve as many reprieves as possible, while some really, really, REALLY need to be the subject of a murder mystery like yesterday, so let's dig in and dissect.
The heart of the matter

Maxie's heart and BJ's heart are one in the same, and now Maxie's loved ones fear that the miracle they got in 1994 is about to expire. We must say, when Kirsten Storms announced her extended break from GH and essentially told us that Maxie's story would blow our minds, we were not expecting her to have a heart attack.
By last week, we knew Sidwell was going to do something to her after he had that conversation with James. However, we figured he would kidnap her and hold her hostage for months. We never imagined that GH would both Sam and Lulu Maxie all at once. The show gave her a drug-induced heart attack and put her in a coma. If Maxie wanted to keep up with her two BFFs, this was the way to do it.
At least we can rest assured that Maxie's heart attack won't kill her, and her coma won't last four years, because we know Storms will be back in a few months. But we are impressed with this neat trick.
Thank goodness the neat trick comes with all the angst and drama we need. Maxie's heart may have stopped for a bit, but Felicia broke our hearts as she remembered sitting vigil by Maxie's side all those years ago. Even Spinelli nearly melted into a puddle of tears, something we never thought we'd see.
Lulu grows up

Maxie's heart attack even brought us a miracle. Lulu was able to stop thinking about herself for five minutes, and we are impressed. Maxie's fate helped put things in perspective for Lulu, and she actually made amends with Liesl and Brook Lynn. We think. Brook Lynn and Lulu stopped bickering, so that's something, right? Lulu even sat down with Liesl and apologized for her attitude over the last month.
Lulu has a good argument for not wanting Liesl anywhere near Rocco, but she had to acknowledge that it was Rocco who reached out to Dr. O and not the other way around. This was a big deal for Lulu. She was able to admit she was wrong, something we rarely ever see.
Will these two truces last past Maxie's health crisis? We doubt it. If Lulu's truce with Brook Lynn lasts, we have to wonder why GH spent so long establishing them as mortal enemies for the past year, just so they could become besties while Maxie is comatose. (We guess Maxie and Brook Lynn became besties while Lulu was comatose, so why not? Maybe?
Bitter Britt brings out The Britch

Britt certainly seems to be living on borrowed time. She claims her Huntington's Disease is in remission, which is not actually a thing, so it's not easy to roll with it. Like Days of our Lives, GH seems to be inventing a fake cure for a very real and deadly disease. DAYS came up with a cure for sepsis this past spring, so why not have GH come up with a cure for Huntington's Disease? Both scenarios leave a bad taste in our mouth, but we have to just try to enjoy the fact that The Britch is back and JaBritt can get another chance.
Sure, we would have preferred that the show finally gave Liason their chance, but they are not, so we'll take JaBritt. They clearly still have chemistry, but their reunion was not quite what we expected. We're not sure why. Britt was Britt, angry and bitchy. And Jason was Jason, nearly stone-cold silent. We should have expected exactly what we got, but GH needs to get a move on here.
While we are enjoying Jason in his resort wear, we're getting a little tired of the Five Poppies resort. It's time to take this show on the road back to Port Charles so we can see Liesl lose her mind when her Britta appears before her. The Britt and Mutter reunion is all we have been waiting for.
Josslyn's kinks

For a girl whose first sexual experience became revenge porn fodder, Josslyn sure isn't adverse to sex. But is Esme's video of Joss with Cameron the reason Josslyn and trauma sex go hand in hand? After Britt saved her from Heather's hook, Joss had sex with Dex for the first time (while still allegedly exclusive with Cam). When she learned that Willow had cancer and remembered her late boyfriend Oscar, who had died from cancer, she hopped into bed with Dex.
Now, Joss just killed someone for the second time this year, and this time in the line of WSB duty. So, what did she do? She had trauma sex with Vaughn after he found her found her fully clothed in the shower. Murder and mayhem are apparently turn-ons for Carly and Jax's college co-ed super spy daughter.
We have to admit it was a bit amusing to see that Joss and Vaughn may actually want to forget what happened. They seemed pretty awkward with each other after the fact, as they wondered who would sleep in the bed. So, maybe this was a massive mistake because Robert and Anna they are not.
Just end him already

We feel as if Drew Cain has been living on borrowed time all damn year. In January, we wrote our very first 'Who Shot Drew?' story, but he still hasn't been shot. WHY? Every week, the suspect list grows, but we still don't have a victim. This week, the list grew as Drew made enemies of Stella, Justine, and Martin. That's quite impressive for one smarmy politician.
Drew has literally no redeeming qualities left. He is a horrific person who lies, barks orders, bends the law, abuses power, stalks women, and then brags about all the awful things he has done, thinking other slightly less awful people will be impressed. Well, Drew, they are not impressed. When Jenz Sidwell thinks you have gone too far, you might want to pull back and re-examine your life. Or, GH could just get things moving here and give us the 'Who Shot Drew?' story already. And if Willow isn't the one who shoots him, we want our money back. But Willow fell right back into his arms, which makes her too stupid to know how to pull a trigger. But if Josslyn can now manage it twice, you can do it, too, Willow. You know you want to, and we want you to. Pretty please.
Till next week, Scoopers, when we are sure the suspect list will get even longer? So, who else will want to shoot Drew? The possibilities are endless...
