Slezak took to her personal website to post some special words about her time at General Hospital.

"Thank you so much for all your emails. I am delighted that you've been enjoying my work on General Hospital," Slezak wrote. "I am very grateful for the kind words you have shared with me. It was wonderful to work again in a medium I love. My experience on GH was fantastic, and I hope you continue to enjoy the show. GH has an incredible group of actors and writers, and I am honored to have been part of it. Many sincere thanks for watching. Love, Erika."

It had been more than a decade since Slezak had worked on a soap opera set when she arrived at the GH studio to create a brand-new character. She admitted in an official behind-the-scenes video that it took some getting into the swing of things again.

"The schedule is so different from what I'm used to," she said. "You jump back and forth and back and forth. From one script to 12 scripts later, and it's something you just have to get used to. I'm still kinda going, 'Uh, what day is it?"

Thankfully, there were some familiar faces for Slezak at GH, including Executive Producer Frank Valentini, who was the producer of One Life to Live during its final years. Slezak also got to reunite with former OLTL stars Amanda Setton, who plays Brook Lynn, and Josh Kelly, who plays Cody.

Slezak also had a special reunion with former on-screen son Chris McKenna, who was a teenager when he played Joey Buchanan, one of Victoria Lord's sons on OLTL. When her GH character, Ronnie, walked into Bobbie's and saw McKenna's Jack sitting at a table, she called out, "Joey?" Alas, it turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

When Slezak's story wraps this week, Ronnie is expected to leave town with a clean conscience now that the truth about Monica's will has been revealed.
