General Hospital's Jason Morgan has been a man on a mission with a one-track mind. He was determined to prove to himself that he wasn't crazy and that Britt Westbourne was alive, and he did just that. Then, he decided to leave well enough alone.

When Jason (Steve Burton) first brought his theory to Anna (Finola Hughes) that Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had faked her death, she convinced him not to go after her and let her be. Britt didn't want anyone to see her deteriorate and suffer due to her Huntington's Disease diagnosis. Anna pointed out that was likely why Britt faked her death, so Jason decided he wouldn't pursue her any longer.

However, Anna gets new information from Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) that tells her that Britt could be in imminent danger, so she encourages Jason to go to Croatia, where things can go very wrong.

"What Jason doesn’t know is that confronting Britt may put other people in danger — one person, in particular, who is very close to him," Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte told Soap Opera Digest.

Odds are that the other person is novice WSB agent Josslyn (Eden McCoy), so it's a pretty good bet that Carly (Laura Wright) will be brought into this mess. As fans know, Carly was the reason Jason broke things off with Britt in 2021.

Van Etten and Korte believe there is definitely unfinished business between Jason and Britt.

"Britt does not buy into the Jason myth," they said. "And Jason has seen the vulnerability beneath Britt’s hard and brittle shell. Each has the other’s number, and neither will let the other forget it. But they also challenge each other. Proximity to Jason compels Britt to do better (even if it drives her crazy); and proximity to Britt gives Jason a migraine. But the pain must feel good, because he can’t stay away."

Of course, Britt will have to explain where she has been the last two years, including how she managed to avert death after being nicked by Heather Webber's (Alley Mills) poison hook. The writers believe that being the daughter of Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) has set the character up well to create an elaborate fake death scenario. The question is, was Heather in on it? Stay tuned to find out.
