On General Hospital, Sonny Corinthos owns a slice of paradise in the form of an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. Sometimes it’s used as a vacation retreat, and sometimes it’s a safe haven, where he’ll send family and friends to if enemies are attacking Port Charles. In real life, Maurice Benard doesn’t own an island, but he does enjoy traveling, a pastime that’s been recently opened up to him. He recently disclosed a different kind of paradise that fills his life now.
A new kind of freedom
General Hospital star Maurice Benard wrote on Instagram, “So I am doing my show in Dallas, my next show is Oklahoma, and then Iowa. After that, 10 more shows. We will be laughing, singing, telling jokes, talking mental health. My son, Joshua, will be singing some beautiful songs. I kind of think you don’t want to miss it.” He then directed fans to where they can purchase tickets for the event.
Along with that was a video in which Benard explained, “I just got here in Dallas and ready to do my show and I got, I'll do 13 more after that. But I can't wait. I cannot wait. And you know what feels great is being able to get on so many planes without anxiety. It's like, it's heaven on earth. It's joy. And then, my next show is Oklahoma and then Iowa. I asked baby Milo to sing, but he said he, he didn't feel like it cause he wasn't getting paid enough. So I, I have my son Joshua Benard.” In the background, Joshua could be seen singing Elvis Presley’s classic 1961 hit song, Can’t Help Falling in Love. The elder Benard jumped in and sang a line to the best of his ability.

The General Hospital star’s post was met with several heart emojis that were lovingly sent by fans. @maria4eva76 wrote, “LOVE LOVE this!! Come to Nashville pleaseee!!” Another fan, @sauer1948, commented, “Congratulations on the tour and so glad to hear Joshua singing the King!! I think your anxiety is in check because you’re doing this tour with your son, and you’re helping others.”
