General Hospital fans have been getting to know Nazneen Contractor as Sonny Corinthos has been getting to know Justine Turner, the no-nonsense assistant district attorney Contractor brings to life in Port Charles. Today, Contractor celebrates her birthday as Justine gains more prominence in the soap opera world.
Nazneen Contractor keeps it all in the General Hospital family

Contractor was born on August 26, 1982, in Bombay, India, and spent some time in Nigeria as a child before her family settled in Toronto, Canada, when she was seven years old.
The actress appeared in multiple Canadian productions before moving to the U.S., including CBC's The Border, Ransom, and 24. In 2009, she became a Hollywood actress, landing roles in Charmed, FreakAngels, Scentsational Christmas, and Criminal Minds.
In 2024, she began playing Justin Turner during Ava's (Maura West) trial for Kristina's (Kate Mansi) fall out of the Metro Court window. Just a few months earlier, Contractor's husband of 15 years, Carlo Rota, began playing Jenz Sidwell. Contractor was just visiting the GH set to see her husband when Executive Producer Frank Valentini met her and decided she should play PC's new prosecutor.
Justine is in the thick of it

Contractor never expected her four-day role to become something more, but now Justine is part of the regular Port Charles scene as she's been learning more and more about Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) — and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Recently, Justine shared pizza with Donna and Sonny, but hid when Drew showed up. That's when she heard Drew blackmailing Sonny and realized the good guys and bad guys are not always who they seem to be.
Contractor has also had the privilege of working with her husband on GH and loves it.
"We’ve been married for 15 years, so we’ve worked together throughout our relationship and our careers many times before," she told TV Insider. "But this has been very special because we are working locally, which is so wonderful. We can go to work and come home to our home, our kids, and our family. They’ve written scenes with us together, and it’s so much fun to be in character when they call action or they do the countdown, and then as soon as they call cut, to just be husband and wife again. It’s a great dynamic."
Soap Central wishes Contractor a very happy birthday and many more.
