On General Hospital, Charlotte Cassadine has been back on the canvas for a few weeks now and is increasingly getting involved in family drama. Her new portrayer, 17-year-old Bluesy Burke, is enjoying the biggest roles of her young career. She has another big project coming out in November.
General Hospital's Charlotte has new film coming out
Burke has a key role in the movie Stone Cold Fox, which debuts in theaters on November 7th. It is a star-studded feature led by Kiernan Shipka, Krysten Ritter, Kiefer Sutherland, and Jamie Chung.
The movie, directed by Sophie Tabet, is described on IMDB as follows: “In 1986, the defiant Fox breaks out of an abusive commune in search of her family. But when the queenpin kidnaps her little sister and sends a crooked cop after her, Fox has no choice but to infiltrate the very place she escaped.”
Shipka plays the title character Fox, and Burke plays the little sister, named “Spooky.” She appears in the trailer, which has the vibe of a Quentin Tarantino film and shows their characters involved in a world of drug-dealing and other crimes, with Sutherland, best known as Jack Bauer on 24, as the crooked cop.
Burke recently shared photos on her Instagram account, captioning the post, “Had so much fun making this. When the heat is on, don’t mess with a Stone Cold Fox. Directed by @sophhreshh and starring @kiernanshipka @krystenritter @kiefersutherland @jamiejchung @karenfukuhara @mishelprada & @gabbymaiden , @stonecoldfoxmovie is in select theaters and On Demand starting November 7.”
Bluesy Burke takes General Hospital by storm
Burke took over the role of Charlotte on General Hospital from Scarlett Fernandez, who played her on and off since 2016. Fernandez lives in Idaho and is focusing on playing volleyball in college.
Burke’s parents are actors. Billy Burke is known for the Twilight movie franchise and the primetime hit Fire Country. Her mother is actress Pollyanna Rose.
Burke comes onto General Hospital at a key time for her character. This week, Charlotte went to the Steinmauer prison in Switzerland to visit her father, Valentin, giving Burke her first scenes with Valentin’s portrayer, James Patrick Stuart. Burke shared the ABC promo for the episode earlier this week.
Charlotte not only had an emotional reunion with her dad, but had some strong words for Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) as she went toe-to-toe with the WSB leader over her father's imprisonment.
Burke has also been tasked to play family drama with Charlotte’s mother, Lulu (Alexa Havins). They have a lot to deal with as Charlotte’s half-brother Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) is getting to know the woman who gave birth to him, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), and her biological family, including the newly returned from the dead Nathan West (Ryan Paevey).
As we’ve seen on this week’s General Hospital episodes, Valentin seems to know more than he’s saying about Britt, her connection to her father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), and the mysterious research Britt was doing in Croatia. Valentin urged Charlotte not to trust Britt, just as his daughter may be moving more into Dr. Westbourne’s orbit, so Burke could have more chaos to play as she grows in the role.
The new GH star is ready for the challenge. On October 1st, Burke expressed gratitude for the opportunity on her Instagram account. She captioned the post, “Okie dokie, this is really late but I just wanted to say how grateful I am to @generalhospitalabc for giving me the chance to play Charlotte!! I’m loving it so much and can’t wait to see what’s next for her.”

Love you so much and so very proud.” The user Kelly.mcpoland added, “You stepped into your role seamlessly! I’m looking forward to seeing Charlotte’s visit with Valentin!
