On General Hospital, it appears that Nathan West has been reborn in some way or another. It's like a birthday of sorts on-screen as Ryan Paevey celebrates his real birthday off-screen.
Happy birthday, Ryan Paevey

Ryan Jacob Paevey-Vlieger was born on September 24, 1984, in Torrance, CA. As a teenager and young man, Paevey was offered modeling work while working as a bartender and a construction worker, which helped lead to his acting career.
After appearing in several music videos with artists like Cher, Robin Thicke, and Christina Aguilera, Paevey landed the role of Nathan West on General Hospital in 2013. It was his first role as a series regular and his star took off from there. A year later, Paevey became a guest co-host for the entertainment news show Extra, before landing his first Hallmark flick in 2016.
Unleashing Mr. Darcy helped launch Paevey's Hallmark career and led to a contract with the movie channel a few years later. Paevey left GH in 2018 and went on to make multiple new Hallmark films, including Marrying Mr. Darcy, Harvest Love, Locked In, and Fourth Down and Love.
The avid motorcyclist is also a jewelry designer and photographer, and sells his creations through his own company, Fortunate Wanderer.
Back on General Hospital

In 2025, Paevey chose to return to the soap that made him famous and graced our General Hospital screens again as a man who appears to be James Nathan West, the good-guy cop who was killed by his own father seven years ago.
Nathan's death devastated his wife, Maxie (Kirsten Storms), who was pregnant with their son, James (Gary James Fuller), at the time. James never knew his father, but he has learned so much about him. He even gave a comatose Maxie the police badge that belonged to his mom when she entered her coma.
Paevey has said he wouldn't have made his GH comeback for a run-of-the mill back from the dead story, so it will be fascinating to see what's to come.
"This go-round is definitely going to be wildly different than the last one was," Paevey told TV Insider. "We’ve got some fun stuff planned. We’re going to stir the pot. I wouldn’t come back for something vanilla. It’s going to be a blast."
Soap Central wishes Ryan Paevey a very happy birthday and many more.
