It's been months since Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) learned that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) was their son, but Brook Lynn might be taking Tracy's (Jane Elliot) suggestion to leave the young man alone way too far. Even when Brook Lynn and Gio ran into one another at the pool, Gio was stunned when his mother barely said two words to him.

Dante has had a little more luck with Gio, but now he is getting frustrated sitting around waiting for his son to come to him. To that end, Brook Lynn and Dante strategize and try to find a way to finally have some sort of relationship with Gio.

Meanwhile, Michael (Rory Gibson) and Gio have a chat. Michael encourages his new cousin to give his parents a chance, but will he listen?

When Chase (Josh Swickard) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) have an encounter in the park while they each try to get their run in, it becomes apparent that there's still a connection between them. After all, they were once in love, married, and never got closure.

Chase finds himself confiding in Willow, despite her not being the best person for anyone to confide in right now, considering the emotional state she is in. Does Chase tell Willow that Brook Lynn is not sure she wants to adopt right now? That can cause some problems in his marriage, and Willow might see an opening...

Drew (Cameron Mathison) is now as unfit a parent as Willow, and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) knows it. She can barely believe that Drew wants to keep Scout (Cosette Abinante) away from her entire family. In fact, he doesn't even care what Sam would have wanted.

Molly (Kristen Vaganos) tries to talk to Drew, but will soon realize that he is completely unreasonable. He tells her that the sooner he takes Scout and moves to DC, the better. Scout is the last thing Drew has and treats her like a possession. What he doesn't realize is that Alexis isn't going to let her go without a fight.
