General Hospital character Dr. Lucas Jones, played by Van Hansis, may not particularly like Britt Westbourne. However, he can't deny that she's a solid doctor, as evidenced by his witnessing how she's handled some recent cases. Now, Hansis is speaking out on working with Kelly Thiebaud, who plays Britt.

Not only is Lucas warming to Britt, as a doctor, but Hansis told Soap Opera Digest that he and Thiebaud hit it off quickly. "There are some people that you meet and you just click with," Hansis said, "you’re just like, ‘Oh, we’re friends, that’s it.’ She was very much that for me, from the very first conversation we had."

Hansis said that he dug her a lot immediately, noting that she's quite funny. He says that they got each other from day one, which doesn't always happen in life with co-workers.

Hansis says that the Britt/Lucas is one of his favorite dynamics on the show to play. He feels that there's a "playful antagonism" between them. The actor says that his co-star is not afraid to make a fool of herself and that she has no pretense. He recalled Lucas having to call Britt a "psychopath" in a scene and she ened up making a crazy face, which prompted Hansis to think, "This is art!"

Lucas offered to put his money where his mouth was by telling Britt that he'd be willing to write a recommendation on her behalf so that she could get her medical license reinstated. Why? Lucas was impressed with how Britt stepped up when Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) had a heart attack, and how Britt more recently took care of Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) when she wasn't feeling well.

At the end of the day, Hansis believes that Britt and Lucas are best left in a mostly adversarial space. "It's certainly fun to play," he says.

Stay tuned to find out if Lucas makes good on her work to help Britt get one of the things that she'd like most in the world, and that is to be on staff again at General Hospital.
