It's that time of year again when we start a fresh year and resolve to make changes happen. That's just what General Hospital stars will be doing for themselves, while also finding some New Year's resolutions for the characters they play.

General Hospital stars have their hopes

In a General Hospital social media video shared on December 30, your Port Charles faves tell us exactly what the fictional people they bring to life might want in 2026.

Katelyn MacMullen chose the most obvious thing for Willow. "Get her kids back. That would be her resolution," she said. Perhaps she can also resolve to find her own self again, outside Drew.

Maurice Benard also has a resolution for Sonny that should be obvious, as the mobster has not had a real love interest for two years. After all, it was New Year's Eve in 2023 when Sonny learned that his new wife, Nina, ratted out his ex-wife, Carly, to the SEC.

"I mean, the guy's lonely, he's been lonely for a long time now, so I think it's time for him to get some lovin'," Benard said.

Sonny's best bud, Mayor Laura, has also had a rough year and can only see rough things ahead. However, Genie Francis would like her to stay grounded.

"I think that Laura's New Year's resolution should be to remember that she's overcome hard times before and that she will again," Francis said.

Van Hansis knows his character is heading for a whole lot of trouble at his new home on Spoon Island and worries about what could happen to him.

"Lucas' resolution for 2026 should be to stay out of the catacombs and stay off the parapet," Hansis quipped.

Alexa Havins would like Lulu to really think about her choices in the coming months. "I think that Lulu's New Year's resolution should be NOT to pursue her best friend's husband," she said, alluding to Lulu's budding friendship with Nathan.

Bluesy Burke, who plays Lulu's teenage daughter, Charlotte, also knows her character might not be thinking clearly. "Staying out of trouble, but I think we all know that's not going to happen," she said, referring to Charlotte's sometimes dangerous habits.

Kate Mansi is another actress who knows her character's decision-making skills well. "I think Kristina's New Year's resolution is to play it a little less safe," she joked. "Bad decisions are her brand, right?"

Both Tabyana Ali and Amanda Setton hope their charcter's focus will be on family.

"Trina's 2026 New Year's resolution is to enjoy her new sibling and embrace her family a little bit more than she has in the last couple of months," Ali said.

Setton chimed in with Brook Lynn's desire "to continue her focus on her son, Gio, and to build a family with her husband, Chase."

And it was Josh Swickard who made us all laugh when he offered the perfect goal for his Chase.

"Chase's New Year's Resolution is to one day have a better body than Cameron Mathison," he said, referring to the fine physique of his co-star, whose character, Drew Cain, might want to make some 2026 resolutions of his own.
