On General Hospital, Cameron Mathison’s Drew is causing more than his share of chaos these days, creating enemies, including someone who shot him. But away from Port Charles, Mathison’s heart is firmly with a very different kind of storyline — one involving a four-legged friend who’s clearly stolen more than a few hearts. He took to social media recently to give an update on his rescue Doberman, Hunter. Fans wasted no time flooding the comments with love, support, and some very pointed “signs” that this match may be forever.

Cameron’s Big Hunter Update

On Instagram, Mathison wrote, “Hunter’s back with me! We found out the hard way that this big guy really needs to be the only pet in the house — so until we find him the perfect setup, he’s hanging with me again.” He predicted the fan response with: “And yes, I can already hear you all saying it…‘He’s meant to stay forever!’ Trust me, I’ve thought that too. But where I’m living right now, space is a little tight until I decide whether to rebuild or move — so for now, we’re just enjoying the time together.” The General Hospital star then noted, “If you (or someone you know) has room in their home and heart for a 100-pound Doberman with no other pets, please reach out or drop a comment below!”

He also spoke directly to the fans in a short video in which he reiterated that Hunter needed to be placed in a home with no other pets. He then read the fans’ minds again, explaining, “I know you're all saying, ‘Oh my gosh, it's a sign, he needs to be with you in your life, in your house, etc.’” The General Hospital actor again explained that his living situation precluded such a large doggie, and ended with, “I guess he's gonna be with me for a bit.”
