General Hospital welcomes Rena Sofer back to the Port Charles scene later this week as Lois returns to town after the death of Monica Quartermaine, according to Soap Opera Digest.
Rena Sofer makes a guest appearance
After a dramatic storyline in which Lois had to admit she hid her daughter's baby in plain sight for 22 years, Lois left town as Sofer left Los Angeles. The actress, who had spent more than three decades in sunny California, announced her move in August. Sofer and her husband, Stanford Bookstaver, moved back to New York, where Sofer first got her soap start on Loving in the 1980s.
"We’ve been in LA for almost 35 years, and now it’s time for me and @sbookstaver to go," Sofer wrote on Instagram, alongside a video of herself and Bookstaver moving set to New York State of Mind. "No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams! Yes, I’m getting emotional. I met and had my children in LA, met the man of my dreams, and created an incredible life there. I had amazing success in the Biz and made all my lifelong friends, who I will miss desperately. Most of all, my BFF @arinacabral and my Brother @davidsofer53 !!! Thank you, LA, for being you. And now on to quieter and calmer times. Leave it to a leaf blower to finish this post, there is nothing more la!! Now we are off in our @rivianofficial with our 5 dogs in the back to our new life!!!"
Another General Hospital comeback for Lois

After Lois left Port Charles with her tail between her legs, she returned a few months later to appear with the Deception ladies on the Home and Heart Channel. She had no idea Lucy (Lynn Herring) had lured her from Bensonhurst under false pretenses. Lois thought Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) was ready to make up, but BLQ is not even close to ready.
Lois found herself opening up to Flora Gardens (Susan Batten) about her situation, but that didn't improve anything with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). Will this visit thaw the ice between the two women so mother and daughter can be close again? Perhaps Monica's (the late Leslie Charleson) death will put life in perspective for Brook Lynn.
