General Hospital star Cameron Mathison (Drew) has overcome quite a bit over the years. He recently revealed some of the illnesses he’s dealt with, including degenerative bone disease and kidney cancer. But the actor has an indomitable will and has worked hard to maintain his health. He’s been sharing fun tidbits online to help fans take care of their health and now has a new venture to supplement that information.

His health coach changed his life

On Instagram, General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison wrote, “We all respond to stress and tough times differently. Some of us lose weight, some gain, some lose motivation altogether. For me, it’s easy to get off track under pressure—but I’m super grateful to be back at a healthy weight with energy, strength, motivation, and perspective. Grateful for the reset.” The actor has especially needed a full reset after the L.A. wildfires destroyed his family home in January.

He continued, writing, “I really can’t say enough about having a functional health coach. I’ve had one for the last four years, and it’s been a complete game changer for me. So much so that I’m going into business with them to launch my own functional health coaching company…

HEALTH360. Coming soon.” He recently shared the benefits of a 7-Day Fast, so his coaching may include pertinent information about that, which is a major, full-body reset that most people need.

Attached to his post was a video in which the General Hospital star stated, “Guys, I'm just feeling so grateful about where my health and my fitness is at this moment. I also want to show the importance of having a functional health coach, which I've had for the last 4 years. [It] changed the game for me.” He revealed that after he lost his house, “I lost a lot of weight. I lost my appetite. I lost my motivation to work out and keep my healthy habits. It happens under severe stress.”

He added that it was an incredibly difficult time for him, but his health coach has helped him to take things at a slower pace as well as increase “my macros, my calories, counting protein, fat, carbohydrates, getting good sleep, watching my cortisol levels, lots of meditation.” He also stated that he’s been extremely “focused on nutrient-dense foods, non-processed foods, real foods, low-intensity cardio, things like that. I slowly was building muscle back up again.” He had gone down to 180 pounds and is now back at 195 with a body fat level that’s less than 10%.

Mathison then stated that he felt great once again and was excited to share his new venture with his followers. The fans were thrilled at his news, and @kevintalleyphoto requested that he clarify one aspect of his plan by asking, “Love to hear about your meditation technique sometime,” to which the General Hospital actor replied, “@kevintalleyphoto yes yes yes.”
