General Hospital’s Kin Shriner continues to have a strong presence on social media. He’s gotten fans into some fun conversations by discussing movies and movie stars of the past. He even shared some of his fantastic poster collection, causing the fans to collectively drool. Recently, he shared a more somber post, tugging at the heartstrings of his fans.

He caused Shriner to mess up his lines

On X, formerly Twitter, the General Hospital star posted a screenshot from a headline about the passing of the show’s alum, Chris Robinson, who played Dr. Rick Webber from 1978 to 1986. His affair with Monica (the late Leslie Charleson) fueled many storylines, and he became part of the Port Charles fabric. Shriner lovingly captioned it, “Sorry to hear about Chris Robinson passing, we had such fun. @GeneralHospital He would love to find ways to get u to goof up your lines. I enjoyed our time there!!”

@KMontoPronto asked the pertinent question: “That’s a fantastic tidbit: how would he find ways to get you to goof up your lines? Would he do something different in blacking or goof up his lines to get you to goof up yours? It would certainly keep you on your toes.” @ChrisHanov39200, who knew their GH history well, responded with, “It's very sad news. First, Leslie Charleson. Then Denise Alexander [Leslie Webber]. Now Chris Robinson. It's sad that within a few short months, they are all gone. The whole Alan [Stuart Damon], Monica, Leslie, and Rick Era of General Hospital. Gone. Sad. But never forgotten.”

Condolences poured in

One follower, @MsISIS131, was another person steeped in General Hospital lore, and shared that knowledge in the comment, “Kin, you know I LOVE the REAL Webber family (including Teri/Jeff). This saddens me to hear of Chris Robinson’s passing. I was very young when he began as Rick Webber #2 (replacing Michael Storm), but he certainly made the character his own. He & Denise were GOLD. My condolences.”

Rick and Leslie were a hot couple for many years on the show, and @DawnWatson27772 lamented the loss of many of General Hospital’s iconic actors, writing, “This really hurt after losing Denise. I loved Chris from 12 O'Clock High. Loved watching you guys. May he rest in peace. Glad I met him. He took me and a friend to the set and [we] got to wait in his dressing room.” It should be noted that Robinson appeared in many TV shows and movies over the years, including the 1972 horror cult classic, Stanley, in which he played a character who used his pet rattlesnake to get revenge on those who wronged him.

You can watch new episodes of General Hospital on ABC and Hulu.
