There are 176 calories in a Wendy’s small fry as per the company’s official website.

Founded in 1969, Wendy’s rise from the very start was rapid with the fast-food chain growing from a simple drive-thru window to opening its 1000th restaurant by 1978. That was unprecedented at the time with only McDonalds and a few other similar restaurants going through a similar rise. The company eventually went public and soon after, The Wendy’s Company was created. Now considered to be the parent company and franchisor of the chain, it also owns Tim Hortons and several other companies.

How many calories are in a Wendy's small fry?

According to Wendy’s official website, a small fry contains 176 calories. However, other websites list the same small fry at around 260 calories, and Wendy’s suggests that this might be because of regional differences. The fries contain between 11 and 12g of fat and between 29 and 35g of carbohydrates, although as the numbers suggest, that does vary depending on the region.

About Wendy's

While it started as a simple drive-thru window in 1969, things rapidly changed thanks to the popularity of their hamburgers. So much so, that by 1978, the company had opened its 1000th outlet before going public a year later alongside acquiring and selling other fast-food chains. That includes a Tim Hortons, Sisters Chicken and Biscuits, and a few others over the course of that period.

The chain continued to grow well into the 2000s and the parent company, Wendy's International, was bought by Triarc Companies in 2008. The merger was officially completed in September of the same year with the name being changed to Wendy's/Arby's Group, Inc, a change of leadership for both Arby's and Wendy's. Three years later, things changed again as the group sold the majority of its Arby’s chains to Roark Capital Group, changing the name to the Wendy's Company.

As of 2024, it has over 7,000 outlets worldwide, including locations in Germany, India, Jamaica, Japan, and many more. The company also announced that it already has expansion plans and is set to open restaurants in the Republic of Ireland and Romania.
