Andrés Cepeda released his latest studio album, Bogotá, in 2025. The album is a tribute to the city of the same name in Colombia, which is also the singer's hometown.

Andrés Cepeda talked about the album in an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone Español that was published on April 25, 2025, and a translated portion of the interview is quoted here, where the singer explains how the idea for the album came about:

"I already had the idea of making an album called Bogotá, but I still didn't know what it was going to be like and I wasn't going to call Andrés and Mauricio either, because I had just recorded more than half of the previous album with them and I wanted to change. I was at home thinking, when Andrés and Mauricio called me out of nowhere."

The singer continued:

"I thought we had something pending or something like that, when they told me: 'we're here thinking about an idea, you know that we've been your fans since we were little and we want to make an album made by your fans, an album from the perspective of a fan.' They were very feverish to the pod and they learned all the instruments and everything from my friends. I sang, I told them that it was going to be called Bogotá, that was the beginning."

The singer further elaborated:

"What we started to do was a correspondence between a new song with one from 30 years ago, this one with one from 10 years ago and that's how we started to build the album, as a communication between a new song and a past one, that's why several songs sound like a déjà vu of past songs."

Andrés Cepeda is best known for albums such as El Carpintero, Para Amarte Mejor, and Día Tras Día in his solo career. Alongside his solo career, the singer is also known for being a founding member of the band Poligamia. The band was a Latin pop band and released three studio albums before it was disbanded.
