Brandi Carlile has released a new album titled Returning to Myself. The complete album consists of ten songs, now available on streaming platforms. Speaking about the album, she wrote last month on social media:
"It’s just that it comes at a time where I’m reflecting and realizing that learning to stand alone is something that people are supposed to do when they’re young. Like skiing or chickenpox. That if we miss our chance when the pain tolerance is at its highest, we may never do it. Fine with me. I’d rather fight off “aloneness” forever."
The album is getting a lot of attention from music fans online. Let’s take a look at the songs, from the best ones to the least favorite.

Ranking Brandi Carlile's Returning To Myself from best to worst
1) Human
The four-minute, twenty-second-long song has a smooth start, with Brandi gradually picking up the pace. The lyrics go:
"We're only human/ I just wanna feel my face in the sun/ I never really wanted to hurt anyone/ Forever only means we had a good run/ We don't need to know right now/ It's hard enough being human"
The end of the song combines heavy instrumentals with Brandi Carlile's vocals, making it a perfect track to vibe to.
2) Returning to Myself
The title track focuses more on her bare vocals and less on instrumentals. Brandi Carlile's voice is very soothing, with crisp notes and a high vocal range, making this song top our list.

Written from the perspective of someone reaching out to a loved one, the instrumentals, Brandi Carlile's vocals, and the rhythm all fit perfectly, earning it a spot in the top three.

While it’s a great song, the other stronger tracks on the album make this one rank slightly lower on our list.
