Fans of American rapper Cardi B are thrilled after the Bodak Yellow hitmaker announced the release date for her new musical project. It has been over a year since Cardi B released a solo single, with Enough (Miami) being the last which was released in March 2024.
It has also been more than seven years since she released a full-length album, her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, in 2018 being the last. That album featured eight successful singles, including Bartier Cardi, Bodak Yellow, and I Like It. Now, it seems the rapper is ending her extended break with a new single.
Cardi B announced her upcoming single titled Outside on her official Instagram account on June 18, 2025. The single is set to be released on Friday, June 20, 2025. In her post, she shared the cover art for the new song and captioned it:
“We OUTSIDE this Friday!! PRE-SAVE LINK IN BIO.”
More details on Cardi B’s new single, Outside
Outside by Cardi is rumoured to be a scathing diss track aimed at her former partner and the father of her three children, Offset. Cardi B first teased the song on Instagram Live, rapping part of its lyrics while airing out her ex-husband. The song was leaked by an anonymous TikTok account, “User0u7s153,” on May 31, 2025. Cardi addressed the leak in a live session captured by Live Bitez. She said:
“One of my snippets was leaked. I don't even care much for the song, but like everybody loves it. And that's actually one of the things that my label wants, they want me to drop the song because they love the reaction [to] it. I might drop it, I might not. I don't know.”
After the leak, fans of the WAP rapper began urging that she release the single. However, Cardi explained in another Instagram Live session that she didn't want to release any individual projects and would prefer to drop her entire album all at once.
“I don’t know if I really wanna put that song out, to be honest with you. And it’s not because I’m doubting myself and this, this, and that. I’m really, really grateful for all the love. It was never the plan. I don’t think I wanna put out a single, to be honest with you. I just wanna put out my album all at the same time.”
Outside by Cardi B is expected to be included in her upcoming second studio album, set to be released sometime this year. The single was produced by DJ SwanQo, and its lyrics appear to throw shades at a guy that fans suspect is Offset. The first verse reads:
“Yo, when I tell you these n*ggas ain't shit, please believe me/ They gon' f*ck on anything, these n*ggas way too easy/ Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dog, I'm convinced/ Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a b*tch.”
Outside by Cardi B is available for pre-save on YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, iTunes Store, and Tidal.
