Dark Angel 2025 North American tour: Presale code, dates, venues, and more explored

After over three decades away from the North American touring circuit, Dark Angel is officially returning to the road.

The California thrash metal act has announced the Extinction Level Event North American tour, a fall 2025 trek that coincides with their comeback album of the same name. The newly announced tour is Dark Angel's first full domestic run since the early 1990s. It also features a significant support lineup including Sacred Reich, Vio-Lence, Hirax, Midnight, Interceptor, and Void on select dates.

The trek is set to begin on September 5, 2025, in San Diego, California, and conclude on October 16, 2025, in Los Angeles. The 30-date trek spans multiple cities across the U.S. and Canada, with stops in New York City, Dallas, Toronto, Chicago, Seattle, and more.

The tour also serves as a celebration of their upcoming studio LP, Extinction Level Event, their first new album since 1991's Time Does Not Heal. The album is expected to drop later this year via Reversed Records.

Dark Angle shared the tour announcement via an official Instagram post, which read:

Dark Angel was formed in 1981 in California. The band emerged alongside thrash metal's earliest acts, such as Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. With albums like Darkness Descends (1986) and Leave Scars (1989), the band became known in the thrash metal scene. Their final album before disbanding, Time Does Not Heal, was released in 1991.

The band has performed sporadically since reforming in 2013. However, the upcoming tour will be their first extensive headlining tour since the early '90s. Their revamped lineup features Gene Hoglan (drums), Eric Meyer (guitar), Mike Gonzalez (bass), and Ron Rinehart (vocals), along with new guitarist Laura Christine, who joined the band in 2022.

Presale code and ticketing information

Presales for select 2025 Dark Angel North American shows will begin on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time via Live Nation. Fans need to use the access code: LIGHTS. General ticket sales will go live on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster and the official Dark Angel website. VIP upgrades will also be available. Interested ones will have to visit the band website or Reversed Records' official webpage for that.

About the upcoming record

Extinction Level Event is produced by Rob Shallcross and mixed by Mike Fraser (Metallica, AC/DC, Rush). It is going to be Dark Angel's fifth studio album and the first in 34 years. The album's title track and the single, Circular Firing Squad, have been released.
