Britney Spears had earlier sent fans into a tizzy after she announced on social media that she had adopted a daughter. But according to reports by TMZ, she has definitively not welcomed another addition to her family, despite her social media post suggesting otherwise. The incident occurred over the weekend when Spears posted an Instagram video, which was accompanied by the following caption:

"I want to let you guys know I adopted a beautiful baby girl... Her name is Lennon London Spears"

The shock and the suddenness of the news were like a hurricane hitting social media as fans went gaga in an attempt to understand the absurd situation that they were witnessing. Social media feeds also got spammed with appreciation messages toward the pop star when an announcement was made.

Nevertheless, it has now been clarified that the remark delivered by Britney was a tongue-in-cheek statement that cannot be related to the actual state of events. The reports have also been verified by numerous sources since.

While the adoption story was false, Britney Spears’ relationship with her sons has been evolving positively in recent months. She shares two sons (Sean Preston and Jayden James) with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. After a long period of separation, she met her younger son, Jayden, in December 2024 and shared her excitement with the rest of the world on social media by saying:
