Video of Britney Spears' LAX flight reportedly shows a CBP officer saying "she obviously didn't take her meds" after singer lit a cigarette on plane

In May 2025, singer Britney Spears made headlines for her flight journey when she allegedly created chaos inside an aircraft. At that time, TMZ published a report mentioning that the Gimme More singer tried to light a cigarette inside the plane and also indulged in drinking.

The singer clarified the situation in a lengthy Instagram post. However, on July 11, TMZ published another exclusive report stating that Spears seemed fine after the plane ride. The outlet shared a body cam video of an airport cop on the apron, in which he can be seen conversing with a Customs officer, who said:

“I don’t know if some f*cking helper’s on the plane. They moved around and broke out. It’s Britney Spears who’s inside. We get her all the time and today she obviously didn’t take her meds. She’s being very compliant, very nice so to me right now, it’s all good.”

The airport cop, whose body cam recorded the conversation, asked the Customs officer if he should stand by, to which the officer suggested following Spears back.

The video then showed Spears on the apron as she walked away. On May 24, Spears posted a video on her Instagram, where she was seen in a gala mood with a bottle in hand inside the plane. She wrote:

“Me yesterday !!! It’s actually incredibly funny !!! Some planes I’ve been on you can’t smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on outside of seat !!! Confession it was my first time drinking VODKA!!! I swear I felt so SMART.”

What more did Britney Spears say about her flight journey?

Britney Spears shared that she wanted to smoke a cigarette on the plane. A friend helped her light one, and she thought she was allowed to do so. Spears later apologised if she had upset anyone, noting:

“I thought officials greeted me as support and I was like WOW I feel special !!! I’ve never been to an international airport!!! Am I famous or something ??? The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette !!! And embarrass me which jeez I thought was kinda much but she didn’t like me the moment I got on plane !!!”

Britney Spears went on:

“Nobody was on the plane for first 20 minutes and she wouldn’t let me get out of my seat I wanted to stand up !!! She acted so weird about making sure I sat down and it was weird !!! I didn’t like the way she put the seatbelt on me and invaded my space !!!”

In her book, The Woman In Me, Britney Spears discussed the rumors that said she had addiction problems. She explained that while she liked to drink sometimes, she never lost control or had a serious issue with alcohol.
