Ed Sheeran extends 2026 Australian tour: New dates, venues, and more explored

Ed Sheeran's return to Australia and New Zealand in 2026 officially got bigger. His AU and NZ run was originally announced as an 11-date trek across stadiums in both countries. The tour has now been extended due to reported overwhelming demand.

Promoters Frontier Touring and MG Live confirmed four new Australian dates and a second Auckland show. It brings the total number of performances to 16. The extended run is part of Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour. It will begin in Auckland in mid-January and end in Adelaide in early March 2026. The shows will come following his upcoming album Play, which is scheduled for release on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Ed Sheeran took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to announce the 2026 tour extension. The post read:

"Extra dates added for the Australia & New Zealand LOOP tour 2026! Tickets on sale this Tuesday 29th July 2025. http://edsheeran.com/#tour"

In an official press release, Frontier Touring mentioned:

"It's official: Australia loves Ed Sheeran! Due to overwhelming demand by fans, promoters Frontier Touring and MG Live are thrilled to announce the addition of four new stadium shows for the global superstar, returning to Australia and New Zealand next summer with his all-new Loop Tour."

They also added:

"Tickets for all shows – including the newly added dates – will be available to Frontier Members in today's presale. With staggered start times for each city, fans should be sure to check the website for the relevant start time: see frontiertouring.com/edsheeran for full tour information."

Presale and ticket information

Tickets for all 2026 Ed Sheeran shows, including the newly announced dates, will be available through Frontier Touring. A Frontier Members presale is set to begin on Monday, July 28, for 24 hours or until allocations run out. It will be followed by a general public sale on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
