Drake recently commented on a resurfaced interview clip between Tory Lanez and Rob Markman, throwing shade at Markman and calling for the freedom of Tory Lanez, who was convicted and sent to prison after he shot Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
The singer stated:
"Of course this good Markman couldn’t finish the bar… Free Tory."
Rob Markman hit back at the singer, referencing in a X post his UMG lawsuit, stating:
"I could call him names too. But you know he love to sue."
Drake has previously supported Tory Lanez
Drake has been a vocal supporter of Tory Lanez from the very start of Lanez. The singer first referenced Lanez and his conviction in his 2022 track, Circo Loco, in which he sang:
"This b**ch lie about getting shots, but she still she a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling."
The singer subsequently posted an Instagram post in 2024 with the caption "3 you." The singer's message drew ire from Megan The Stallion's but he remained undeterred. In May 2025, the singer shared a petition calling for Tory Lanez's freedom.
Drake also has an ongoing beef with Megan Thee Stallion that emerged from the Canadian singer's Tory Lanez. Drake called out Stallion in 2023 for speaking out against him. In 2024, Megan Thee Stallion hit back at the Hiss:
"Fake-a** accents, fake-a** followers, y’all got fake-a** problems. Man, these ni**as is bi***es, they might as well rap in some thongs."
Megan Thee Stallion's hit at Drake is considered to be the start of a period of feuding by and against the Canadian rapper, including the infamous feud between him and Kendrick Lamar.
