Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at 76 years old. He was the lead singer of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He helped make that sound famous. In his last days, he sat on a throne to perform because he could no longer stand. On the 30th of July 2025, thousands of fans joined a public procession in his hometown, Birmingham, as a brass band played “Iron Man.” He was known far beyond heavy metal fans.

Tom Lehrer
Tom Lehrer, aged 97, died in late July 2025. He was a singer, a teacher, and a satirical songwriter. In the 1950s and 60s, he wrote funny and clever songs like “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park” and “The Vatican Rag.” He stopped performing and taught math for many years. In 2020, he gave away the rights to his songs so anyone could use them. He was admired for both his humor and his kindness.

George “Fiji” Veikoso
On the 3rd of July 2025, George "Fiji" Veikoso died at the age of 55. He recorded music with a mix of reggae, ska, jazz, hip-hop, and island styles. He co-wrote the theme song for Baywatch Hawaii and received many awards throughout the Pacific region. He was a positive influence on the youth, and his family said he had "calm wisdom." Connie Francis

Jeannie Seely
On August 1, 2025, Jeannie Seely, the country music staple or "Miss Country Soul," died at 85. Jeannie was now reported from an illness from an intestinal infection she was suffering from. Jeannie is known for her historic hit song "Don't Touch Me" which won her a Grammy in 1966.

George Kooymans (77), co-founder of Dutch rock band Golden Earring, died on July 22 due to complications from ALS. He helped write the famous song “Radar Love” and “Twilight Zone.”
John “Poli” Palmer (82), an English multi-instrumentalist, died in July 2025. He was famous for playing several instruments like the flute, vibraphone, piano, and more. He also worked with Peter Frampton, Linda Lewis, and Pete Townshend. He rejoined Family for a reunion tour years later.
