Coldplay recently performed at the Gillette Stadium in Boston, Massachusetts (USA), from July 15, 2025, to July 16, 2025. During the second of the two concerts on July 16, 2025, the now former CEO of Astronomer, a data infrastructure startup company, Andy Byron, and his co-worker Kristin Cabot were caught kissing and holding each other live on camera when the band highlighted members of the audience.

The two quickly ducked away, and it was soon revealed they are married to other people and thus were caught in a moment of their affair. Byron subsequently resigned from the company, his wife removed his surname from her Facebook profile, and the entire incident caused a flurry of debate on social media platforms.

Now brands are hopping on the trend, using the incident to switch up their marketing strategies as well as engage with netizens. Everyone from Tesla to Hulu has posted memes or marketing gimmicks about this.

Tesla took to X (both owned by Elon Musk) with the following post on social media:

"Posting a pic of you enjoying your loaner Tesla while your own one is in service is the equivalent of taking it to a Coldplay concert Your car will know."

Hulu, meanwhile, posted a snippet from the show Modern Family, with the following comment:

"Reminder: What happens on the Jumbotron does not always stay on the Jumbotron. "

Other brands and entities that have responded to this viral moment include:

  • Amul
  • Brie
  • Ryanair
  • Globeair and Miller And Motion

  • Hotels & Resorts Worldwide
  • Duolingo

Political figures such as California Governor Gavin Newsom also utilized the viral Coldplay concert meme moment, photoshopping US President Donald Trump's and Jeffrey Epstein's faces over the two having an affair in an apparent reference to the Epstein scandal.
