Kanye West performed for a sold-out stadium of over seventy thousand people on July 12, 2025, in Shanghai, China. His July 12 performance marked the Good Morning hitmaker’s first in the city since 2008.
The 24-time Grammy-winning artist performed hits for a hyped crowd, including POWER, Can’t Tell Me Nothing, Blood On The Leaves, Through The Wire and Famous. The rapper wore a grey hoodie and black leather pants, belting different lyrics to the crowd’s excitement.
Several clips of the concert circulating on X showed West demonstrating remarkable stage presence as the crowd screamed along track after track. On June 27, 2025, the controversial artist announced his performance at the Shanghai concert, and more than 60,000 fans reportedly clicked “I want to see it” on Damai within hours of the reveal.
West’s last Shanghai show was at the Hongkou Football Stadium. His Friday concert was his first in China in 16 years. In September 2024, the rapper held a listening event in Haikou that drew attendees from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Shenzhen, amongst others.

Multiple music news outlets on X shared videos of West having a good time on stage, and fans are reacting to them.
Fans praised Kanye West for being able to pull an impressive crowd regardless of his recent controversial statements:
“Greatest living artist of all time, idc if he’s canceled, FREE YE,” @StrawHatAir added.
“He sold out the stadium even though he’s canceled, that’s how you know he's the goat,” @INurbih stated.
“They can’t cancel the goat,” @suayrez praised.
Others explained that Kanye West has a strong fan base in non-English-speaking countries:

Kanye West was scheduled to perform at the Rubicon Festival on July 18, 2025. Still, the organizers have reportedly canceled the entire event following backlash and protests over the rapper’s antisemitic comments and other antics. His next performance is in South Korea on July 26.
