The album was in some controversy relating to plagiarism allegations levelled at it by Freddie Gibbs, who stated that the album plagiarised the dollar ($) symbol. They also claimed that the bunnies in the album's promotional material were taken from Gibbs' album, Soul Sold Separately. John River, a Canadian rapper, also accused the duo of plagiarizing the artwork of the album from the video of his 2021 song Hope City II.
Some Sexy Songs 4 U has been commercially successful, with the album charting at the top spot on several major album charts and earning a silver certification in the UK. The album was first revealed back in 2024 during the singer's appearance at a PartyNextDoor show stop in Toronto, Canada. The album features a total of 21 tracks, amounting to a runtime of 73 minutes and 30 seconds.
