Tamar Estine Braxton, also known as simply Tamar Braxton, is a singer, actress, and TV personality. She is one of the founding members of 'The Braxtons,' an American musical quintet formed by Tamar and her four sisters. Tamar and her sisters signed to Arista Records in 1989 and released their debut single, Good Life, the following year. However, the R&B girl group was not a commercial success.
Focusing on her solo career as a singer, and possibly following her older sister, Toni Braxton's footsteps, Tamar released her debut self-titled album in 2000. After a long hiatus, she released her second studio album. As of now, Tamar Braxton has released a total of five studio albums and multiple singles.

"I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can't even really talk anymore I'm so weak. I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury. As the days go by the worse it is. I fractured my nose, lost some teeth and mobility. the way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins… pray for me for real. I don’t even know what happened to me."

After posting this message, Tamar also reposted a page from the Bible. It was a verse from Proverbs 31, a passage that talked about strong women.
Despite the hurdles during her earlier years as an artist, Tamar Braxton has emerged with a powerful career, with a list of hit songs and even a few stints in film and television. After a recent near-death experience, the 48-year-old singer expressed how grateful she is for waking up.
